Day 1 complete. Day 2 will get the rest of the OSB and siding on, and the roof trusses installed and decked.

Are you doing this yourself? Or contractor?

This is contracted. I built the bridge crane that’s inside the building, and I’ll do all the interior finish out (electrical, insulation, HVAC, etc) but the building envelope is being built by Tuff Shed. All the walls showed up on a trailer this morning so a lot of the building was built in a factory and it’s being assembled on site.

I know it’s going to vary some with the finishing materials, upgrades, etc, but what is the average cost of one that size including the concrete pad?

My building is 24 x 40 x 12, galvalume metal roof, 16 foot garage door, a 3' walk door, and a 7' canister door (little roll up door for my mower on the side that empties into the back yard. The building itself was 24k, materials and labor. I’m having parts of the building faced in OSB that I’ll cover w/ a stone veneer but for the same money they’d do 100" smartside siding.
The slab will cost you another 7500-12K depending on what you want and how busy the concrete guys in your area are. My slab has a ludicrous amount of steel in it and there’s a portion of the slab that’s 12" thick to support the lift that I’ll be installing.

That’s about what I thought it would cost. I was hoping you’d say $20-25k all in after I read it was a prefab. I got a quote for $13k just to pour a 10' x 15' slab, and build a 1 car pergola like detached carport. Initially I just wanted an additional covered spot. After thinking about it more, my garage is so cramped I really need a detached garage with some storage room. Then I might as well make it tall enough for a storage loft (or a lift), or I’ll always regret it. It just keeps growing in cost. Lol

If you don’t go tall they can frame it out of 2x4 and it’s quite a bit less expensive. However, then you’re SOL on a lift unless you get one of those tiny ones (Dannmar MaxJax). Also, my building is crazy deep so if you can live w/ normal garage depth that drops the price. A fairly basic 2 car garage is about 12K installed (plus whatever your slab costs)
